In the Real Estate sector you can find many things, local to reform, smaller or larger flats and sometimes you are lucky enough to work with architectural wonders like this Villa Regia. Built in the early 1920s, cataloged and located in the exclusive Terramar area, Sitges, it is for sale for the first time since it was built.
Modernism proposes emancipation, a break with academic historicism, proposing decorative typologies inspired by nature. The bourgeoisie of the time demanded more refined forms than those offered by industrialization, thus giving a vindication of artisan work.
We can see on the outside of this wonderful Villa that has a tower with a serigraphic sundial, in which there is a bedroom which is located on the fourth floor. The owners have been adapting the facilities by making small renovations to the interior without significantly modifying the structure since, since it is cataloged, no major modifications can be made. Particularly noteworthy is the porch on ionic columns that support a closed terrace with a balustrade at the front of the Villa.
The interior space of the main floor is divided into the hall, three living rooms, a dining room, a full bathroom and a room with direct access to the kitchen (located on the basement). As soon as we enter, if we turn around we can see the sea from the hall, the lamp and its details are especially striking. We can access the main living room, which also has views of the sea, a secondary living room and on the left we find the stairs going through a large arch. The living room – dinning room is at the end of the room. With a total of three fireplaces with the original finishes located in three different rooms: in the living-dining room and in two other rooms.
This villa is especially bright due to the large windows and the open space that the main living room offers us.
On the stairs there are several distinctive details such as the organic shapes that have been given to the handrail, the mosaics on the risers and what stands out most is the window glass with a noble shield. As we can see in the photos, there are several arches inside the house, which give it a distinctive touch, reminding us of Catalan modernism.
On the first floor we find six very spacious double bedrooms, three of them have access to the terrace and views of the sea, another has its own terrace (also spectacular views of the sea) and the last two bedrooms have views of the garden / pool. All rooms are exquisitely decorated. There are two full bathrooms on this floor, one of them especially spacious with a corner bathtub.
If we keep going up, we get to the tower suite room. With sea views, full bathroom and access to the largest terrace in the whole house, approximately 100m2.
Going down the stairs again, we access the semi-basement, where the kitchen, another double bedroom, a dining room and several rooms that are currently used as a storage room are located. This structure is due to the fact that before it was much more common for families with a lot of wealth to hire several service people who slept in the house.
All this distributed in 700m2 of the house and 1,030m2 of surface area of the plot.
Outside there is a 30m2 annex building, next to the pool.
Definitely a residential gem in this renowned and appreciated Mediterranean coastal town.
